In 2014 I purchased an off the shelf, rather expensive, flying camera. Otherwise known as a Quadcopter or a ‘drone’. For me it was a creative tool, not a toy, or a spying device. I used it to gain the perspective I love, from above. Eventually I was able to fly it well enough to capture exactly the image I wanted. With few settlements and wonderful patterns on the surface of the earth, Central Australia is the ideal place to fly this machine, though I have flown elsewhere too as you will see. I also love to take photos from small planes. Some of my favourite images I took in Iceland in 2014, and last year over Shark Bay in WA.
