In 2016 I had a solo exhibition at the June Marriot Gallery Alice Springs titled FLORA – The Alchemy of Playing with Plants. As the name suggests it was a celebration of the many ways I use plants in creating my artwork: for naturally dyeing silk scarves, making paper from native grasses, creating Vandyke prints on the handmade paper, tracing the shadows cast by plants on paper and canvas and assembling 3d works from plant material. The June Marriot Gallery is attached to Central Craft in Alice Springs so it was highly appropriate to include all these varied applications in one installation style exhibition. With careful planning and excellent lighting the result was very pleasing.
