My favourite Eucalypt leaf print scarf
Dyeing with natural dyes has become a bit of an obsession. There is a kind of uncontrollable magic about this process, you never know exactly how things will turn out, so the old recipe of play, experiment and learn is the one to employ. I use plant material I collect in the bush, plus things I forage from ‘Woollies’, like onion skins and purple carotts. I also use rust, it seems to find its way into all my work. Most recently I have been developing the technique known as ‘eco printing’ using eucalyptus leaves on silk and wool.
My scarves are available through the Talapi Gallery in Alice Springs.
